Publishing the voices that refuse to be silenced.Purr & Phantom Press LLC exists because some stories are too important to stay buried.
We publish books that the mainstream overlooked. These books were not overlooks because they lacked brilliance, but because the world wasn't ready to listen. We specialize in voices that have been systematically marginalized: women poets whose work was eclipsed by their male contemporaries, spiritual practitioners whose wisdom was systemically erased, and writers whose intersecting identities made them "too complicated" for traditional publishing.
Our mission is simple: publish the underserved with the reverence they deserve.
Every book we release is an act of justice. Every translation is an act of love. Every grimoire is an act of reclamation.
We are Latinx and queer-owned, and unapologetically mission-driven. Our founder is a Cuban-American translator, educator, and ordained high priestess who believes that publishing is sacred work; because stories have the power to resurrect the dead, heal the living, and change what's possible for those yet to come.UPCOMING TITLES FROM PURR & PHANTOM PRESS...

Grimoires for those who practice between cultural and spiritual worlds.Entre Velos Press publishes grimoires, spiritual guides, and sacred texts for diasporic practitioners, especially those of us who piece together our practices from fragments, family whispers, and respectful borrowing across traditions. Our books are for the spiritually diasporic. We are the ones who do not fit into churches or Wiccan circles. Our great-grandmothers knew things they couldn't write down, so we build altars from what survives and what calls to us across oceans and centuries.
We publish work that honors:Cuban, Caribbean, and Latin American spiritual traditions
The wisdom of midlife and elderhood (especially for women)
The intersection of ancestral practice and personal gnosis
The reality of practicing on a budget, in secret, or in isolationThese aren't books written by outsiders looking in. They're written by practitioners for practitioners; people who live between worlds and make magic from what remains.

Honoring and the women poets Latin America.
Voces Claras Press translates undertranslated Latin American women poets from the late 19th and early 20th centuries; poets who were the Sylvia Plaths and Adrienne Riches of their time and place, but whose work has been nearly erased from English literary history.
These aren't obscure figures. They were celebrated in their own countries, lauded by Rubén DarÃo and Miguel de Unamuno, published widely in Spanish. Systematic marginalization has kept them out of English translation for over a century.
We're changing that.
Our books are published in three formats:Spanish-only editions (honoring the original language)
English-only editions (making the work accessible)
Bilingual facing-page editions (for readers, scholars, and lovers of both)Poets we've translated include:Delmira Agustini (Uruguay) — Erotic modernist, murdered at 27
Mercedes Matamoros (Cuba) — First feminist poet, champion of independenceWe are just getting started and hope to build a robust collection of brilliant Latinx poets whose work will finally be more widely accessible.
